E-rate
E-Rate Strategies:
What is E-Rate : The federal E-Rate program, short for the School and Libraries Universal Support Mechanism, subsidizes the cost for schools and libraries purchasing networking technology from telecommunication carriers and vendors. Isee helps schools and libraries make the most out of available federal E-Rate funding. Our sophisticated knowledge of the program helps schools and libraries navigate the complexities of the federal E‑Rate program and to create partnerships with carriers and vendors for the build out of networks.
How E-Rate Works : E-Rate subsidizes the cost of telecommunications and Internet access and certain equipment and wiring for K-12 schools and libraries across the nation. Currently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorizes $2.25 billion per funding year in E-Rate funds. The percentage of funding awarded to applicants reflects the level of poverty and the urban/rural status of the population served. After providing telecommunications and Internet services to all eligible sites, remaining funds are then allocated for internal connections based on the same economic and geographic criteria.
